The Acolyte Guild assists the clergy and other leaders of the liturgies of the church. Acolytes lead processions and recessionals, take part in the reading of the gospel as well as many other aspects of worship and liturgy.
The Acolyte Guild’s Role
Their presence at the Lord’s table is especially important as they assist the clergy in preparing the table for Holy Eucharist. They play special roles on other sacramental celebrations such as Baptisms, Confirmations and Ordinations as well as special occasions such as the visit of the Bishop of the Diocese.
